Quotes...
As Jed and Leo sit together on the morning after the kidnapping...
Jed: They gave her a number, Leo. I saw it on CNN.... My little girl's a case number
now... Five digits...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Liz approaches her father after she learns about his involvement in Shareef's assassination...
Liz: Dad... Dad! Did Mom know?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As Abbey rants at Jed about the decision to kill Shareef and the fact that his actions may have led to Zoey's kidnapping:
Abbey: Why should today be any different? Your decisions, Jed, not ours.
Followed by a quote that isn't verbal, just a heart wrenching visual statement about a daughter's unconditional
love for her father. After Abbey leaves, Ellie picks up her father's coffee cup and takes it to him as he
sits, completely rejected, at the kitchen table. She reaches out and puts her arms around him in a gesture of unspoken
love and comfort.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As Walken makes the decision to retaliate:
Walken: If the Arabs are mad at us, we must be doing something right.
As Leo tries to avoid military confrontation, he reminds the acting President that any action could jeopardize Zoey's
life:
Walken: They're going to kill her anyway.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As Jed waits to leave for Mass:
Jed: Ellie came too. Did I tell you?
Leo: No. That's great.
Jed: All the things we wanted to do, Leo... All the things we believed in...wanted to fight
for... (long pause)
Leo: Sir?
Jed: He's going to bomb, isn't he?
Leo: Yes, Sir, he is.

The NBC Synopsis of this episode:
THE WEST WING 7A WF 83429 (Season Premiere)
Resuming from last season's cliffhanger, the world watches the desperate search for the President's abducted daughter
while rival administrations form an uneasy alliance as they weigh options that might include a preemptive military strike
at terrorist targets -- a move that could doom the victim.
After President Bartlet invokes the 25th Amendment, House Speaker Walken addresses the nation about Bartlet's
assassination of a Qumari terrorist leader last year. More anti-American violence occurs overseas and the weary President
gathers his family at the White House -- but faces losing their respect after news reports of the Qumari incident.
