Sheen, looking presidential in a three-piece blue suit, called Bush a bully for
targeting those who criticize him. Sheen, who plays President Josiah Bartlet
on television's "The West Wing," said he contacted the Kerry campaign to offer
help despite his previous support for Howard Dean.

Actors and actresses back new Ohio political group

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio - A bit of Hollywood weighed in Saturday night
on behalf of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry. The organization
"Bring Ohio Back" presented Martin Sheen, who plays President Josiah Bartlet
on television's "The West Wing," to a $500 per person event at a private home
in this Cleveland suburb, and to a $50 per person event at a restaurant in nearby
Woodmere.

"Whoever wins Ohio wins the White House. That's clear now," Sheen said.

Hollywood stars Martin Sheen and Susan Sarandon along with Chad Lowe,
Fisher Stevens, Julianna Margulies and comedian Andy Borowitz came to town
last Saturday to support democratic politics at the Cleveland Heights home of
Jeff and Suzanne Rusnak. About 180 guests paid $500 per ticket to rub shoulders
with the celebrities. Here's the rundown:

Sheen: He may have been acting, but Sheen stole the show with his outgoing
nature, warm handshake and movie star smile. He seemed genuinely happy to
be here.

Sarandon: Obliging and cordial, Sarandon had an aura about her that seemed to
say, "keep your distance." Most guests heeded the tacit message and gave her
some space.

Margulies: Three words describe the star: beautiful, humble and well-spoken.
Margulies looked radiant in a white pair of Gucci pants and a white blazer by
Theory.

Lowe: Friendly and personable in a gray Calvin Klein suit, Lowe kicked off the
speeches with pal Fisher Stevens.

Stevens: Cool and low key, the actor helped Lowe put the star contingent
together.

Borowitz: Funny guy -- originally from Shaker Heights -- said he had an
ulterior motive for supporting the cause. "If Kerry makes it in the White House,
I'll have a long career impersonating him," he said.
