A Family Affair

When watching this film, play close attention to the scene in which JFK is
sitting for his portrait. The artist, Elaine de Kooning, is portrayed by Martin's wife, Janet!

Behind the Scenes

In an interview with "Stills" magazine, Jim Goddard, the director of "Kennedy",
said security was a concern during filming, further stating that police had warned them
against shooting a Martin Luther King sequence in Richmond, Virginia. With this in
mind, security was particularly tight during the assassination sequence, amid fears
that a "nutter" might try to shoot Martin Sheen for real.
